SHIPPING POLICY FOR BIHAPI STUDIO
BiHapi Studio is a one person, made to order business.
My main focus for my handmade business is quality rather than quantity.
No matter how many throw pillows you order, it will take time to process your order.
UNDERSTANDING THE PROCESS/TIMELINE FOR CREATING YOUR THROW PILLOW
By the time I receive your order I already have the resources needed to begin creating your throw pillow.
The fabric I use (hemp, hemp canvas and hemp silk charmeuse) will most likely need to be cut for each size (20x20, 24x24 and 26x26).
Next, I prepare the fabric for dyeing; what is commonly called mordanting. Mordanting is the process of preparing the fabric to receive and hold the dye.
There are two ways to do this:
- Use Alum, a mordant that is also used for cooking. It can be bought at most grocery stores. I prepare a pot with boiling water and leave the fabric in, stirring occasionally for about an hour to an hour and half. I transfer the mordant fabric to my dye pot.
- The second way to mordant fabric is a process I recently learned about; using an aluminum pot instead of a stainless steel pot. The aluminum pot is the mordant so I can dye as normal.
To receive the best results (deep, rich colors), I leave the fabric in the dye pot for 24 hours. This allows maximum absorption of the dye in the fibers.
**If I’m using Indigo, which is a separate and different dyeing process, I let the fabric oxidize first so that the fabric turns blue (takes about 5 minutes) and then re-dip back in the pot. I usually dip it seven (7) times to get a rich, darker shade of blue. **
After 24 hours, I rinse off the fabric and hang to dry.
Once dried, I sew your throw pillow together. Once it is sewn, I put together the packaging, create the shipping labels, and either schedule a pick up or I personally go to my local shipping store.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO RECEIVE MY THROW PILLOW?
I have set up shipping rates via the Shopify store settings. You should be able to see your shipping options and the duration of each option during checkout. Expect 5-8 business days.

DO YOU OFFER EXPEDITED SHIPPING?
Do to the nature of my business, I do not offer expedited shipping. It is best that if you are ordering for special occasions (birthdays, weddings, etc) and holidays, please order as early as possible.
DO YOU OFFER WORLDWIDE SHIPPING?
No, not at this time. My goal is to expand to worldwide once I have reached my selling goals in the US.
In the event that I have to re-order resources like fabric and dyes, I will try my best to expedite my orders to meet my deadline of 5-8 days.
